Sojourn in the Hills

Hi TWM, My name is Rajorshi. This is my introductory post in any blog site.I'm not much into blogging but then I followed TWM for quite sumtime now and I must admit that the posts here are not just a good read but an amalgamation of creativity, knowledge and fun. Had you been following Raj’s tweets in his FB acct in the past 3 days, you must have known by now that the 3 idiots hit the hills once again! And this time, as per the sobriquet, it was the ‘Land of peace & tranquility’. As per the itinerary, we whistled out of Sealdah on Thursday night, Darjeeling Mail and reached the next morning at NJP. After a grueling bargaining with the touts, we finally managed to get a shared sumo and reached Gangtok after a well over 4 hours drive maneuvering the 125 kms. However, we quickly felt that we left the the hustle bustle of Siliguri behind us and by the time we reached the outskirts of the city, we completely forgot the heat and dust. The roads were not the usual twisters (snak...

And The Warrior Returns...

Whoa! They call me a professional blogger and I haven't been able to write a single word for any of my personal blogs, be it TWM :: Online , Shayon's Labyrinth or even Timeless Imagination . I guess, that's what happens when all you do, during the day, is blog and then when you come back home, WarCraft is the only reason that inspires you to open up your laptop's lid and hit the power button!   I wouldn't really say that I am stressed out, thanks to my new job as the Chief Editor of WATBlog , one of country's leading advertising and technology blogs. After all, how many have gotten the opportunity and luck (this is something very rare in my destiny) to convert their hobby, their love, into a profession? The down side is, WAT is a startup, in essence. It just turned 2 , the month I joined, and we have an employee strength of just 12. Yes, you read that right. So, we realize that there is a lot of potential in the market and since our niche is very nascent, it ...

What Should One Do After Graduation?

Okay, this post is not really to lecture you folks about your career goals and paths. It's just that I happen to come across a few pretty noteworthy articles that spurred in me an urge to share my journey of thought processes right since the time I was old enough to decide on a career track for myself. Back to 2001, while I was preparing for my 10th grade board exams. Since I was supposed to decide what stream to take up, I thought I'd be a chef later in my life. I was always enthusiastic about culinary concoctions and loved to eat myself. Hence, commerce seemed to be the stream to go. However, I was already, kinda, a comp whiz. Moreover, almost everyone from my family took the path of Computer Science and the market was also pretty favourable. So, my dad said I could always take up Science then and later take up being a chef, if I wanted to. Alas, by the time I completed my Higher Secondary, he already managed to condition me to get into engineering and hence...

It has already started then. Shayon no other option but ultimately I had to forego the twmonline name. Those of you who do not know about it, well I forgot my login to the original TWM blog. No wonder I am also known as the "Flopmaster". That's why now we have a new name "the-wall-mag". Friends it will be wonderful to have you all here. Some few years down the line when all of us get too busy with the hustle-bustle of "LIFE", we can share our moments through this medium. I am sure reading a few posts on this page will refresh you and can bring a smile on your face. As Shayon says "This goal-less fun sure does have some benefits." I have already sent out a few invites and more are on the way. Looking forward to have you all on this wonderful journey. What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. from "Leisure" by W. H. Davies

Here I am...This is Me...

Okay, I’m glad that despite the initial set back (ask Rathin if u r curious abt it! *wink*), we are up again onto the virtual world! Yes, it’s true, we used to have a helluva of a time, in the ‘TopFloor’. I know what most of u are thinking, “we alredy have a community on Orkut, ab is ski kya zaroorat hai?” Now, the fun of Blogger is, you can even share pictures, actually write abt ur feelings, pull legs and even share videos of ur latesht workplaces, with the rest of the gang! But seriously, wot’s gonna help you more, on the personal front, is ur tryst with the Queen’s language! I’ve been on the circuit for abt 3 years now and I can actually feel the difference. N wot else? How abt some of the goal-less fun that we used to have, all together? I’d sincerely urge all the Top Floorers to come forward and take part in this revolution (yes, I’d call it a revolution) that Rathin has started. I’m sure that u r gonna love the journey.
