When I escaped death !!!

12th June'13, 10.30 pm : I was driving back from a dinner party at dizzying speeds of around 80 KMPH inside a city. Then in my  psychedelic drive (yes I get high without alcohol), I saw a signal square few 100 meters ahead. I decreased the speed ( Signals are switched off after 10 pm in Nagpur so exercised caution ) to 60 KMPH (I am an engineer and I like my exact figures) but my car jumped off a speed breaker which I could not spot in the city darkness . I thought I controlled my car by the time I reached the signal square but  baaaaangggg !!! Few seconds later - I realized I was still alive!! saved by the airbag. Take a note everybody. The same day during daytime around 4.30 pm, I was feeling restless with a feeling of fear & anxiety inside me. A friend inquired and I replied back "I can feel something bad is going to happen with me today". That night I was hit by a speeding car...

Half Time

Roughly, we may be at the half way junction of our active (able-bodied) life cycle. We learnt a lot of things since the time we crawled on all fours to this point. Though there is still confusion as to which road to walk. I think I am on a side path which may suddenly drop me on the main road. Is it not the time to apply my learnings and do the things I had imagined as a younger restless mind? Now I am able and fearless. Still, it is also the time to get settled. No more of Brownian motion. That's my personal choice. But again there is this call for a quest, will there be another trajectory that will be altogther different if I make the choice? A state of duvidha ! I had been on adventures to find a companion for the journey ahead. Alas, not all expeditions are successful. Hope is important to the exploring spirit for there are still beautiful patches and brilliance! I am ready for the next half nevertheless. It's time or is it time!!

Quick Updates

Currently a bit swamped with work. And yet, so many things happened in my life in the last few days that I couldn't help myself from sharing them. So, here they are, in bulleted form. The very first time I had ever held a DSLR in my hand was about 5 years ago. In college. And needless to say, I didn't take long to get blown away by it. I am not too great a photographer. As a matter of fact, I don't understand shit about apertures, ISOs or even focal lengths. Sure, I had studies some of those terms in my Optics class. And that's the only reference I have. I guess the only advantage I got is a sense of angles and lighting. But that was enough to make me feel extremely inadequate off the regular point and shoots you get in the market. I won't lie. The recent spate of almost all my friends buying one DSLR or the other also heightened the thirst. With every cam I held in my hands, the urge of possessing one kept getting stronger. Thankfully, I had managed to stash ...

Ringing Bells?

It seems the 'Master' is in demand, eh? Nah, it isn't that life in Delhi has put me to sleep, rather life is on a roll. Working for 2 major publication houses, Hindustan Times and Wall Street Journal, plus the fact that my house is more than 1 hour away from the workplace, doesn't really leave much juice to come up with anything worthwhile. Anyway, since people seem to be all eager to get updated about my life, here's something that just might equate to a bombshell for you all. On the 4th of this month, I proposed marriage to someone. Seriously, no points in guessing who it could be. But you know what? I still haven't gotten any answer :-P So, I guess you kinda realize now the state I am in :) Adios!

A song: That fits us all.

We are a bunch of idiots!!! Silly people. And trust me, we are a bunch of technocrats and me an advocate to be who are learning to dream and live those dreams. And since most of us understand music more than words.. here is a song dedicated to us, our dreams and our future... Amen...!!! Heart- Broken....

I tried very hard to talk him out of this... I even told him that it won't be the same without you... but he just wouldn't listen. Raj, you know in the analysis of what boys want and what are girls made up off... I completely overlooked a fact about all the Guys... that you all are such such stubborn heads that... its so difficult to talk any of you out of an idea that is stuck to you. Here is what I got in my mail box a few mins ago...  Due to certain unavoidable reasons, I am leaving the website. It’s been a really wonderful experience to have been in the unforgettable company of you all. Thank you so much. I am sure all of you will take TWM to greater heights as it    has become the part and parcel of our daily lives. This is not a website but a platform where in the virtual world we sit down in a room and talk like the way we used to do in college. You don’t have to worry about the Mr. Whacko contest. I am forwarding all the entries to one of you and he’ll take care of them ...

The Vicious circle

Let me take the opportunity to congratulate Raj Alakeshandra-a veteran TWM member for adding a feather in our cap by taking the leap from "singledom" to "Hey!I'm committed now"! Kudos!! to him for completing the mission which I'm sure wouldn't have been an easy one to accomplish & the path to which would have been full of thorns, uncertainities & anxiety & which folks like us will probably never be able to achieve. Now, since Raj has become the member of the prestigious 'TWM committed lounge' which now boasts of four members -two of whom are committed to each other,I want to take this opportunity to address the rest of US-the Uncommitted ones!! "THE REST OF US" Folks, let me give you the bitter pill & you'll have to gulp it down -we are never going to get committed.Yes!! that's the truth. We are never going to get committed until & unless we spend all our time, efforts & energies(which we lazy people are not ...
