New Year resolution...

This breaks my heart... after putting up so many posts, I have not been able to ruffle any feathers in any caps... In hindi/ punjabi it is said- 'kaan pe joon (lice) nahi rengna' Anyways, The past year was marked with loads of ups and downs in our personal lives... as well as rofessional lives... (I am assuming this...) But one of the greatest thing that happened to all of us (atleast that is what I think...) was/ is THE WALL MAG... this beloved page of ours... it became a .net page and we have been having so much of fun reliving the colege days that you guys had... and ofcourse bitching about the jobs that we have had. So, when all of us have made our new year resolutions, about quiting smoking.. (that one is for Shayon...), being more healthy and health concious (this one is for me...)... meeting more often (this one is for Gandhi)...... pursuing music... as a career (Mannu, sweetie this is for you...) .... getting a lil less angry... (Raj ji...aapke liye) and ofcourse using

Merry Christmas...

Oh! You better watch out, You better not cry, You better not pout, I'm telling you why: Santa Claus is coming to town! He's making a list, He's checking it twice, He's gonna find out who's naughty or nice. Santa Claus is coming to town! He sees you when you're sleeping, He knows when you're awake. He knows when you've been bad or good, So be good for goodness sake! So...You better watch out, You better not cry You better not pout, I'm telling you why. Santa Claus is coming to town. Little tin horns, Little toy drums. Rudy-toot-toot and rummy tum tums. Santa Claus is coming to town. Little toy dolls that cuddle and coo, Elephants, boats and Kiddie cars too. Santa Claus is coming to town. The kids in Girl and Boy Land will have a jubilee. They're gonna build a toyland town all around the Christmas tree. Oh....You better watch out, You better not cry. You better not pout, I'm telling you why. Santa Claus is comin' To town. ....... I hope tha

Life as we know it

This article was written by one of our batchmates H.Raajesh-a freakin' genius & one of the most carefree guy I ve ever see in my life.It was supposed to be personal but I somehow got my hands on it from his computer & instead of his insistence that I delete it,I somehow duped him & it's been with me for the last 3 years.I have found it to be one of the best pieces I have ever read .It's a topic which, at least,I am constantly thinking about.Maybe the band Kansas had an answer to this topic in their immensely beautiful, philosophical & heart-breaking song "Dust in the wind"-All we do just crumbles to the ground but we refuse to see.For all we are all dust in the wind.Anyway, here goes the article in it's original form. LIFE AS WE KNOW IT What is life? The ability to breathe, grow, reproduce, etc. which people, animals and plants have before they die, the state of being alive as a human, an i

With Love, From Mumbai!

Monday morning, 9:47am, I have a deadline to meet, 4 blog posts to publish, and here I am, on The Wall Mag, writing after ages. Well, last few weeks have been an absolute topsy-turvy ride for me. It all started with a little fiasco with Raj, my examinations in college, my resignation from WAT, my trip to Mumbai, meeting up Sakshi after a whole fucking year and loads more. I was reading a book by Anirban Bose, named "Bombay Rains, Bombay Girls". The book is so much alike typical Chetan Bhagat novels. But, there was one thing in the story that caught my attention. The protagonist, an aspiring doctor, talks about some ritual among the chimpanzees. Apparently, the males always fight among themselves for the mates. However, just so as to enable them to live within the pack, in peace, they, apparently, kiss each other at the end of every single day as an act of making up. I do not know but is that where the "kiss and make up" phrase came from? Anyway, the reason why I

hey wassup?

The sleep phase has swept our dear page again.... I know, mannu and dion are busy getting ready to land here in Mumbai... I am busy with my internship, and Shayon is busy with me. Yeah, Shayon n I are romancing f2f after a whole... and wow, he has been a real Gentleman...  Rest all is great, work is fun, what with loads of people chattering around us. Nothing more really to write abt... Guys... update please...

We will see him no more.........

Well, I cant express how bad I am feeling while I am writing this post but I think though it's bitter everyone of us should know this news......... "Soumyadeep Da", our beloved senior in college is no more with us. I got this new just few hours back and I am completely shattered. I don't know how many of you remember him but he is known to be the most coolest and calm guy among all the Bengal seniors. I have put his picture here for any body who is not able to recollect him...... May GOD Bless his sacred soul......... W ell, karma here....I know Dip would be incensed seeing me edit his post..But I just couldn't imagine myself in the confines of the comment section..sorry Dip So much happening in such a dizzying pace that its hardly sinking into me.....few days back I lost one of my school mate and now Soumya-da!! I guess my iconoclastic life-style has left me comfortably numb and aloof of the things around me...things that are more important...the glossier thing

Yesterday once more.........

Just about time !! Yeah what a great pastime than to to head for a net cafe after u have ur ass rot in the rickety chairs of office....not an ideal course of action for karma who would rather have a steaming cup of hot, muddy tea in his home. but i guess he is not in ease no a days...what he has seen or heard for last few days has really got him worrying....worrying so much that he has chosen to rush to post something that would stall the forthcoming predicament...confused as u may be..but right now he has no clue what is going on around him, something he is not a part of but still cannot deny that its an irrefutable part of him..what can a man of such low-stature and feeble psyche could do to stop two frenimies (nope its not a typo error, click and see the fun)from biting ones another's head off. One seems to have chosen this portal to unleash his wrath and other seems to write things which are neither articulate nor an attempt for self-redemption. Anyway I guess lodsa line has bee

The Internship story... so far...

I wanted to write about my experiences in office in my last post, but, as soon as I started the post, Mumbai came into my mind. And I couldn't help but to write about it. I have been at work for like four days... and each day has been an experience in itself.  I'll start at the beginning, Ok , I dunno what do you guys know about Law firms, but, I was also blown out of my mind when I saw the firm. Overlooking the Marine Drive, bang opposite the Trident, is the Indian Express building. On the 23rd floor is the office of AZB & Partners. (Just incase you are wondering what the short form is for, then,: A- Ajay Gupta, the Managing partner who sit in Delhi. Z- Zia Mody who along with the B- Behram Vakil sits in this office). The firm is spread over the entire floor, which is HUGE by a law firm standard. It employs over 100 associates and partners in addition to the interns and the paralegals that work here. I have my own desk with my own computer ( Internet is not der ...

Remembering... the dark hours of Mumbai....

Alright ppl all over the world... the gal is back....  Ok, I just wanted to give the article a very VVIP start.... Anyways, the thing that I want to talk about in this post is, about the 60 hours of sheer madness and terror in Mumbai. It was something that is going haunt me, at least all my life. no, not because I was stuck there or was even remotely near that area. But, seeing the heritage of the 'city that never sleeps' being ruined at the hands of a bunch of young guys, just because they have been misguided by assoles was scary and numbing. (Ofcourse, this whole fiasco was threatening to kill my mumbai trip... that too was scaring me...) After the action, its the reaction time. With everybody blaming everybody. But in that all, we forgot a very important lesson.  India is a huge country with so many religions and states and what not. What binds the country together is the fact that we are proud of having such distinct cultures in one. And, even in one family no two people ar

My last post ... its time to say goodbye ...

Dear all , This is my last post on this blog. Sometimes in life u have to take some harsh decisions. In the past few days some incidents took place which forced me to take such a step . 1) firstly, Shayon - this guy is the biggest bluffer ( i donno if this word exists) i have ever seen . wo jis thali mein khata hai usi mein ched kar deta hai ... he bluffs his parents, his girlfriend and all his other friends . n the best part is that he gives a perfect reasoning for all his mistake ,sorry i should say blunder . I know after reading these lines he will give a perfect reply using some classic words . i would like to warn everyone that never trust him . he is very mean n lives for himself. everytime i open this blog it recalls me of him n what he did to me. u all must be anxious to know what happened . i wont disclose it . if someone wants to know then give me a call . n if u want to hear a distorted version then give shayon a call. 2) secondly , the cancellation of goa trip has really br

"Trip Kela" season is back!!

"We had joy,we had fun,we had trip kelas every season but the things we used to plan were seasons out of time" Wow!! Seems like the "Kela" season is in the air again!! Why is it that whenever WE plan something ,something has to go wrong!! On our maiden trip to Goa, I had to back out coz my dad was just outta hospital. So I had to be at home. Before our second trip,we had so much discussion regarding a "reunion" trip to Darjeeling during Convo. What happened was evrybody backing out the last month.Raj said that he has already booked tickets for home.Rathz, supposedly, didn't get any tickets for returning to Kolkatta from Cuttack & there I was in Kol doing nothing.Though finally we did go to Digha & the trip was gud BUT our unbeaten record of "Flop Plans" continued. Now, we are probably gonna add an another feather in the cap.The highly anticipated Goa trip which had created so much ripples across the cyberspace(blog, gmail & orkut) wit

A lil thought....!!!

Never say  I love you If you really don't care. Never talk about feelings If they aren't really there. Never hold my hand If you are going to break my heart. Never say you're going to If you don't really plan to start. Never look into my eyes If all you do is lie. Never say hello If what you really mean is goodbye. If you really mean forever Then say you will try. Never say forever Cause forever makes me cry.   - Rebah A. Ward , June 14, 1998

The mystery that the American Society is!!

Note:The writer of this article is in no way being judgemental or critical about the American society rather he's trying to put his fascination, confusion & thoughts about it. The USA-a country with a society which was just an another society to me BUT that was before I got to know it better. Before knowing it well, for me it was just a society which incidentally belonged to the most powerful nation ,a society which doesnt have many so-called "moral chains" or strings attached ,where anyone is not judged by what profession he/she's in as long as he's in his pursuit of happYness(Yes! with a "Y" there) .As they say "Ignorance is bliss" & after getting to know about the American Society fairly well now the clarity with which I looked at it has been obscured by a cloud of questions. Recently,I read "Scar tissue"-the autobiograpgy of Anthony Kiedies(RHCP frontman) .The book is a real life account of how badly c

Ok, I have no clue why am I doing this- But, I was talking to Shayon and Raj today and I generally asked about Debashish... Arushi, my younger sister liked him in the picture that is on the TWM slideshow. During the interrogation, why I don't know, but Raj asked Shayon to manaofy Debu and Chiru for the Goa trip. B'DE WISHES TO KARMA

karma remember this cake . Till date i have been copy - pasting cakes . This time I have got our very owm bru beck cake . This one is especially for you .. see it n feel the taste . Just now writing these few lines I have planned that next time when i come to kol , il definitely bring a cake ... This guy had a typical bengali look with a kurta n an age-old carry bag. A very prominent member of this club . Thank God u came back after a loooooooong hibernation. I hope now u will continue contributing on the Blog. Deviating from the topic I would like to share something interesting . As most of you have visited my home , u all know that there is a balcony which is grilled. I keep my wet clothes there for drying. 3-4 months back 1 morning i couldn't find my jockey in my flat ...I searched all around my home but couldn't fine it . Few months latter someone stole 1 towel n surprisingly another jockey ... The height was 2de morning .Yesterday, I had kept 1 jockey n 1 Lee for drying b

Dostana.... it is...!!!

We missed out on a post on Children's Day...!!! I forgot to wish also in the comments...!!! YUCK... well, better late than never. Happy Children's Day...!!! I agree when Mann says that though we are officially adults we should goof up also in our lives. And sticking to the same theme, on 14th, one of the most awaited movies of the year released- Dostana. And, Mann, Arushi, Meerut and me went and saw the movie together today... ( Yup- Now I have met Meerut also and Mann and Meerut have met my younger sis Arushi...it was fun)  True to the hype created around it- It was a very happy and 'gay' movie.... it was an absolute laughter riot... some of the jokes that they were cracking did gave you a feeling of deja vu (what with so many comedy shows happening on T.V) but it was the acting, the direction and the fast paced narration of the story that kept you smiling if not laughing all through the movies.  The whole movie has been shot in Miami... and like Priyanka said in her n

Time to bell the CAT...!!!

Atleast, its not that cold, and hibernation mode hasn't set in.  The comments on Shayon's post atleast proved that point. As far as I know, most of the guys are all set to sit for their CAT exams... I know all of you have been working really hard... So like we often say in punjabi- Chak de Fatte...!!! In short- Wishing all of you lots and lots of luck to bell the CAT. I am sure that all of you are gonna crack the paper and make all of us proud. And also all the very best for rest of the entrances...like Mann told me - the entrances continue all the way into the New Year. All the very Best...!!!

A Little Update On My Very Eventful Life...

Hey guys, how you been doing? Well, Sorry for being away from the blog for so many weeks. Anyway, I wanted to update you folks on one of the biggest decisions I've ever taken, in my life. I RESIGNED! Yes, I have resigned from WATMedia Pvt Ltd. Why? That's a surprise in store for you all. I'll unveil it very soon. Just a hint. I am ready to pursue my dream! Yes, I am planning to embrace my ambitions and make my dreams come true. By the way, if you can't hold the excitement, try the "stop and start" routine! (If you do not know what's that, click on this link  . :-P ) Thanks a lot, for loving me and having faith in me!!

Polar Bears...

The winter has not even completely set in... and all of you have become POLAR BEARS... Hibernating long before even the first snowfall... agreed that my last post was way lame... but really that does not needfully mean that you all have to stop posting...!!! NEW POST PLEASE...!!!

Barack Obama won... Now what??

I know politics doen't really interest you all... but then, it is an historic event. An african- american has become the President of the most powerful nation USA. Is it a victory for just the democrats... or is America gonna change? I am not gonna do political analyses of it, because there are far too many happening all over the web. Its a very sentimental moment for all the blacks to see one amongst them on the top from being the slaves to the very country. The winning speech that he delivered in Illionis, Chicago was not extraordinary, but yes very emotional. I am just hoping and praying that he doesn't really carry out his policy on outsourcing or become a difficult ally to India. Here is hoping for the best... Cheers to Mr Obama.

Sneak Peak of FLY!!

Friends remember I'd talked about a song from Sam long long long long time back . Well for all the reasons you know about Sam' laziness and also coz of not finding any suitable lyrics at the end; it's still to be completed. Anyways here's a 'First Look' at the new 'original' creation from 'The Eastern Forces'. Fly !!.wma If you like the song, please call up Sam & force him to finish off the song. njoy..

Hi

Hi Guys and a Gal :) . Its been quite some time since I have been planning to put up something on this but I am quite lazy to type anything. I hope no wud say yeh kaun hai etc but I guess yes ye kahan se agaya wud be the expression on ur face . It was last Feb when I was getting bored in office, I recalled Rathz once telling me in col about TWM and had asked me join it(but in coll I rarely used to visit CC , I had los 2 pairs of footwares). I then started reading all the old posts and ever since then i have been frequently visiting it. Its really awesome and at times makes me nostalgic bout the gud old coll days. Mannu darr mat tu jo bada chdake CSC aur apni life ko batata hai wo mein poori story sabko bol doonga. Nice to hear from all of you. I really got to appreaciate all of you for making TWM a platform for everyone to express their views. Let me stop here . I will come up with a longer post shortly :).

Greetings from North...!!!

In the East, Durga Puja has been keeping everyone busy... The situation is same here in Delhi as well... but with a twist. In Delhi, the festive season which begins with Janamastmi and the Rakhi makes it hard to get on to the road till maybe after Holi...!! The twist being, there is the Durga Puja, the Navaratra Puja and Id all being celebrated with the same enthisiatism by one and all. ( Not that the situation is not the same everywhere else in the Country) but, the most most amazing sight that I have seen here is in Old Delhi or the Walled City as its famously called. On one side you have the Ramlila going on... and on the other the Jama Masjid is lighted up to celebrate Id and the there are the Durga Puja Pandal. But this year, I had a completely different experience through the Navratra Puja. I had gone for a family vacation to Rishikesh (in Uttrakhand). Ofcourse the trip was not confined to the holy Banks of Ganges in Rishikesh, we went further up to Chamba as well (This is not th

Pujo greetings to all..

After all the years of growing up mostly in the eastern part of the country, I have been witness to many Durga Puja celebrations. All the time they said, "If you want to experience the 'real Puja' go to Calcutta"; and finally I (can someone tell if I/i has to be written in capitals or not coz in the past few editions of 'The Sunday Times', the editorials are using 'i' instead of 'I') get a chance to experience the 'real puja'. No doubt the Bongs have become hyper active and are bubbling with energy which reaches a crescendo with the deafening yet hypnotising and magical beats of the dhaak . All the bongs  have bought ethnic wears to look good while they hop from one pandal to another, ya that's of course leaving Samik aside. Yesterday we'd Samik visit a pandal in a short & he was just 'pure & clean' at heart, that's it, no bath I mean. Well what was all purpose behind it, actually we went for the prasadi

Attention

This is just an announcement I had to make! I could have put it in a comments part, but not everyone would have read it. This goes out to all the writing talents LDS at NIT, Jam. is coming out with a literary mag. It will be an official coll. mag. Nandan (my junior from Goa) asked me to write something. But I just had a brilliant idea, why not ask all those of us alumni interested to write a piece (about life after coll.) and give them more work in deciding which one/s to use. We've got good writing talent here and all of our work needs a final polishing (but thats what LDS & co. are for ;D). So mail your entries to nandansawkar[at]gmail[dot]com Happy writing. D

Let there be 'Senses'..

There has been lot of bloodshed in the country in the past few months. Some evil minds have been doing all insane things and thus putting lives of the innocent people into jeopardy. On this day of Gandhi Jayanti, let Senses prevail & the evil minds stop doing the rounds of violence.

The last one I swear..........No more after this

Elated by the flattering response from his fellow bloggers..Karma has now delved deep into his pile of word Docs to find another of his rejects...a far more murkier stuff. Conceived in a delirious state ,without a sense of purpose and with an utter detest for the hole-like-cubicle he works in, while sipping coffee , gazing at the bleak looking world outside from the glassed confine of his office building. Hope u detest it as much as he did while penning it down................... Claustrophobic It's a lonely world outta there Nobody seems to notice you The world seems to collapse in Yes I am a part of this too The sky looks dull , the people so small Thru the window I do often see A lull of silence prevails out side An eerie of numbness yet a strange tranquility This bizarre remoteness befells upon me There's a heavy desolation in my heart My forlorn soul seeks for some solace Listless do I trudge thu this dreary desert

Remembering Gandhi

He was not one of the faces in the crowd. He was different.A man whose statue will be the first to be placed in NIT Jamshedpur's Hall of Fame- Mr. Ankit Gandhi aka Dangs aka Gands aka ....(fill in with all the names you know :P). This article is dedidcated to him from one of his fans.Ok!! Let's start. Gandhi-a guy whose mere thought would bring a smile on anybody's face who would have studied with him,Gandhi-a living example of what all can happen with you if you dont adapt & change yourself to circumstances.I remember when I met him for the first time in college ,he seemed a self-assured man who could spin your head with his computer knowledge & exuded confidence .Then IT STARTED..& by IT STARTED I mean IT STARTED..It started all with his participation in a play -an adaptation of Ramayana in which he had taken up the role of Jatayau-the eagle..That play proved to be a turning point in the way the people used to look at him.He became instant famous. That play &a

Sun Shines through....!!!

Ok, Finally, some good news coming from me... I just got a call and an E-mail from the Law firm that I applied to in Mumbai... guys... I am gonna be in Mumbai in December....!!! I am so excited....!!!! Something to be cheerful about....!!! Yipeeeeeeee....!!! Looking forward to see you all guys....!!! PS: Shayon lost his phone... (This guy is major accident prone...!!!) so contacting him for the coming few days is going to be a problem, coz he is gonna be in Bhuj.

Think about it

This is a poem that I heard sometime back and it just struck a chord in me. It's not cheerful like Sakshi wanted nor is it dreary. I just couldn't bear any Santa-Banta jokes. Hope you'll enjoy it. If I f you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or, being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise; I f you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with triumph and disaster And treat those two imposters just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to broken, And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools; I f you can make one heap of

The Dark side of Shadow......

I guess in last few posts we are encountering a shift of content.Shayon coming up with a really kool piece of poetry and Sakshi too scribbled some wonderful lines. Her post was like sunshine emanating through small chasm the dark clouds of melancholy that has been hovering quite a while. Thus came Karma..always eager to grab eyeballs ,to join the party. He started off thinking he could write lyrics whom his fellowmortal The Sexy Sam is bugging for quite some time.So in order to prove his mettel he started scribbling in between his work.Who knew writing a poem cud be so intricate as compared to writing COBOL codes!!! All he knew about poetry is that it shud end in rhyming words!Hence , he decided the old method...inspiration from some unknown source. He went through covers of Metallica whom he likes to imitate under showeres and thus came a really Murky lyrics which drove Sexy Sam in a state of frenzy. He refused to string tune in the lyrics as he considered his Acoustic cudnot do justice t

ANYWAY...

Today was Daughter's Day, so to spend some time with my Dad, we went to watch a play... more interesting than the play was the cafeteria from where the following lines of poetry come. The moment I read these lines on an obscure board... I knew that I wanted to share them with all of you. People are Unreasonable, illogical and self centered, Love them Anyway.... If you do good, people will accuse you of self centered and ulterior motives, be good to people Anyway... If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies, Succeed Anyway.... The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow, Do good Anyway... Honesty and Frankness makes you vulnerable, Be frank and Honest Anyway.... What you spend years in building may get destroyed overnight, Build Anyway.... People really need help but will attcak you if you help them, Help people Anyway... Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked to the teeth... Give the world the best you have... Anyway....!!!
