My Sins Against the Gender Stereotype

Hey guys, this is a tag. And, I really really hope that you all take it up and make individual posts out of it here. I was going to take it up on Timeless Imagination, but then I thought it will be more fun here... so here goes-

The Rules:

If you are a woman,
Have you ever wanted something that is considered ‘manly’ ? Like a basketball, a cell phone, a dog, a camera or a new laptop? A new car or motor bike? Ever wanted to be a pilot? A doctor or not a nurse? And the manliest want of them all – The remote! ;)
As a kid did you enjoy playing with a bat and a ball?
There was a time when books were considered ‘manly’, women authors had to pretend to be men – would you say books are still rather manly – women should want to embroider and crochet?
If you are a man,
Have you ever wanted something that only women are supposed to want – like bags, shoes, clothes, creams, perfumes, babies, flowers? A peaceful home and a happy family? Have you ever been afraid of the dark or of insects?
As a kid did you ever want to play ‘teacher-teacher’, cooking or did you like playing with a doll? Have you ever enjoyed cooking? Bought something in pink? Loved chocolates?
You have to mention 10 things that you have ever wanted which is not normally a trait of your gender. So if you are the man, show us your feminine side, and me being the only woman, you get to see the manly side ;P

 And here goes my Tag:

1. I hated wearing frocks when I was a kid. I was mostly dressed in shorts and t-shirts.

2. I was a cycle racing champ of my colony, I used to race with all the boys of my colony and win too.

3. I never understood, why it was so important to wear kajal to school, or go to the washroom every second period to check yourself in the mirror.

4. I used to sit with my group of guys in the school, and we used to make fun and talk about all the dirty things in the Biology class *yeah, especially when we were studying the human reproductive system*

5. I have not yet managed to learn how to walk like a lady. Yes, I can walk in heels, for some time before I trip and twist my feet.

6. My list of female friends is as short as I dunno what. I have many male friends, majority of them are on this blog. I have never understood, the vanity of my gender.

7. When I got sick and tired of pinks in my room- I got it painted blue. Yeah, blue.

8. I love to drive rash. You know taking the car to high speed and breaking it suddenly... I would love to do it, but ; a) The car I drive is my mother's b) The Delhi roads, well, they don't permit you to drive like a maniac.

9. I hate dressing up. I have to most of the times, but given a choice, I would love to be me. Dressed down

10. Oh, yeah, call it whatever- But, I have mostly been the only girl in an all guys group of friends. Be it college, school, or here. Pals!!! :P

And now, its your turn guys, lets see, how many of you take this up and bring out your feminine side. The best one, well, gets a lot of accolades... and we get some great reads.
Love ya!!

Woooow, you are soooo me!!! And funny, after all the photos I have seen of you, I thought you were a really girly girl :D

I also did not like wearing dresses as a kid...I liked shorts, tshirts and jackets with pockets so I could keep a lot of stuff in it for solving mysteries. I used to race bikes down the street and a muddy land with my male cousins...loved speed, still do. Have never got the hang of grooming through the day to date...my makeup routine takes three minutes at most (if there is something important on...and chances of it being touched up or hair done during the day...so remote). Have always had more male friends since a kid...and would often go out with just the boys (found their toys cooler when young, the conversation better, and their disinterest in talking about the latest beauty product appealing), I changed my room to blue (turquoise to be precise, then 5 shades of blue) when I was 8, and I avoid dressing up even for work.

I really did learn something new about you! And nice to see the commonalities as well :) I am not such a freak as I thought...either that, or you are much freakier than I had thought :P
