Penn Masala...

Firstly, I would like to wish all the sleeping members of TWM- A Very Happy New Year...!!!, I really really hope that in this new year we stop behaving like lazy arses and get the activity chart on this blog page some hope.
I mean guys, how could you not wish each other New Year... especially after Ankit did such a great job on that cute picture.

Anyways, to all my dear Music enthusiasts, if you guys thought that music is all because of guitars and drums then here is a new genre that is just Awesome... its called A capella . An art that, wiki says has been here for quite some time.
I was introduced to this genre by my cousin who incepted the Band called Penn Masala, what started as a small college band at the University of Pennsylvania, is a rage now (atleast to me) and they had their first concert in Delhi yesterday at Hard Rock Cafe. ( I had asked Mr. Mannu, to come also, but unfortunately he could not make it). To be frank, I had no idea how the hell are they gonna get the Delhi crowd hooked to their style especially since they are not a commercially known band here in India. But, man weren't they awesome. Like really great... ofcourse, count the fact there were 11 good looking men on stage who were absolutely... WOW...!!!

I just thought that, I would introduce you guys to this Band and this genre...!!! After all, almost all of us are music enthusiasts and anything that sounds like music should be appreciated... Right??

@ sakshi

I hope they r not kids :)
Hey guys!
Sakshi, I have to agree with wiki that Acapella has been around for a while. I myself was in an Acapella group here at Drexel for a while. I've heard of Penn Masala and heard a couple of their songs on YouTube, but I've seen a live performance. They must have been real good. The best part about them is that they write their own music too (most acapella groups just perform known songs). Anyway, if you'll like acapella, I'd suggest 'Straight No Chaser' from Univ. of Indiana and UC Berkeley's Men's Octet. Check out this link below (one of my favourites from the Men's Octet):

This a distress call to all TWM folks. This has been the longest duration of inactivity for TWM. So is it that we are all too busy or have all of us hit the writer's block. Let's break the spell of inactivity....HOW?? WHAT SHOULD I WRITE ABOUT?? I have an incomplete draft, shall I post that? May be I will do a recap of the past few days..No mood to write paragraphs.. Connect the dots yourself.. * Kaminey - Movie was good, the ending could have been better..The bong mafia coming with a long gun to the fight scene was really comic..Fahid Kapoor ki acting mast thi..waifey aap log ye movie dekhey kya?? * Books - Finally I read the book Love Story by Erich Segal..Hmmm the story is good but the effect of the classic book has not yet got into me..Meanwhile I am also reading 'The Great Indian Novel' by Shashi Tharoor..I will surely recommend this book..Tharoor has splendidly blended the tales from Mahabharata into the modern Indian history.. *Movies - I watched 'Little Miss
