The Bong Connection !!!

Its 3 a.m. & I am not sleepy. So ,why not contribute to Wall-Mag ...

Last saturday I was in Kolkata with Shayon , Karma & two other college friends.
After a longtime I was in City of Joy. Two years back Kolkata was like crowded with college friends - it used to be a real fun time there.
Things have changed completely now & only two or three of them are left there.
Time passes so fast ...

One day I was just sitting & thinking of past ten fun filled years. That feeling gripped me & made me sad. The flashback of old memories is talking upon me. I needed break to get out of this emotional confusion in my mind.
This weekend helped me to refresh .

We five guys met in Kolkata - Four Bengalis & One mathu-bihari . Shayon had in his mind to have pure bengali food for lunch.I think ,probably, he had come all the way from Mumbai just to have Bengali cuisine ... I have lived most of my as a neighbor of Bengal but somehow I didnt get a chance to have that true Bengali food.

Then started the grand lunch ... Fish , fish & fish - it was a totally fishy affair !!! I must admit that the food was heaven ... I have fallen in love with fish ...
For someone who eats fish bengali food is at par with Punjabi chicken ...
Coming back to our lunch - we kept on eating for more than 2.5 hours to get a bill of whopping Rs 16000 & that too without drinks !!!

After having that heavy lunch , we needed a walk .. We went to Princep Ghat .. Next two hours were laughter show ... We recalled the old days & laughed like crazy to the extent that stomach started paining ...
Next we had dinner in the night. It was basically a drinks session.

It was a great weekend spent with old friends & an opportunity to taste the yummy Bengali food .. Here are few snaps @ Princep Ghat ...

Raj,
Thanks for the post and the pictures! It was great to see familiar faces. Hastu is still smiling as always and Captain America (aka Tintin) has put on some weight and is looking well and alive!
I too reminisce about the old days and sometimes that makes me feel down (because those days are gone, so far back) and sometimes they make me laugh (at all the stupid stuff we'd do)!

And I thought that, there would be something more interesting than an FB like conversation happening here ;)

So obviously, that lunch and that dinner was epic. For some weird reason, I am yet to hear the intricate details. :)

After Kahaani and your pics, I am dying to go to Calcutta :)

Jeez Karma,
I wish Shayon would agree with the whole for everything else there is his card!
But well, I shall try and have the God like cuisine not sure if that is gonna be my heaven or not!
And as far as the train in November is concerned I think the first stop for it is Delhi ;)

This a distress call to all TWM folks. This has been the longest duration of inactivity for TWM. So is it that we are all too busy or have all of us hit the writer's block. Let's break the spell of inactivity....HOW?? WHAT SHOULD I WRITE ABOUT?? I have an incomplete draft, shall I post that? May be I will do a recap of the past few days..No mood to write paragraphs.. Connect the dots yourself.. * Kaminey - Movie was good, the ending could have been better..The bong mafia coming with a long gun to the fight scene was really comic..Fahid Kapoor ki acting mast thi..waifey aap log ye movie dekhey kya?? * Books - Finally I read the book Love Story by Erich Segal..Hmmm the story is good but the effect of the classic book has not yet got into me..Meanwhile I am also reading 'The Great Indian Novel' by Shashi Tharoor..I will surely recommend this book..Tharoor has splendidly blended the tales from Mahabharata into the modern Indian history.. *Movies - I watched 'Littl

When I escaped death !!!

12th June'13, 10.30 pm : I was driving back from a dinner party at dizzying speeds of around 80 KMPH inside a city. Then in my  psychedelic drive (yes I get high without alcohol), I saw a signal square few 100 meters ahead. I decreased the speed ( Signals are switched off after 10 pm in Nagpur so exercised caution ) to 60 KMPH (I am an engineer and I like my exact figures) but my car jumped off a speed breaker which I could not spot in the city darkness . I thought I controlled my car by the time I reached the signal square but  baaaaangggg !!! Few seconds later - I realized I was still alive!! saved by the airbag. Take a note everybody. The same day during daytime around 4.30 pm, I was feeling restless with a feeling of fear & anxiety inside me. A friend inquired and I replied back "I can feel something bad is going to happen with me today". That night I was hit by a speeding car straight (at 90 degrees) on the driver's door. Upon impact
